One of the very important things that got pushed back due to our closing the building and reconfiguring everything we do here at Westside was our New Member Orientation. We had originally planned to meet in late March. We’re happy to finally announce a new date and a new format to officially welcome in our newest friends and begin the journey with them towards membership.
New Member Orientation:
Sunday, August 23, 10:30-11 am, right after outdoor worship. You can attend in person (please bring your own lawn chair, mask, and prepare to stay a healthy 6 feet from everyone). You can also attend via Zoom (login link and password will be sent to your email). We will meet on the lawn by the memorial brook, and Rev. Carol will use the PA system so it will be easy to keep our distance and still be able to hear everything.
Our first meeting will be mostly informational. You’ll receive a Westside membership orientation packet and Rev. Carol and Wendy will share some information about Westside, what it means to be a member, and what the path to membership encompasses. We’ll keep it brief, but will have time to answer questions as well.
We also invite everyone who chooses to continue on the path to a New Member Conversation, a Zoom dinner party, sometime the first week of September for more casual conversation and a chance to get to know each other better. More information will be sent about this event by email along with the New Member Orientation invitation, so be sure to look for it.

Westside will hold a New Member Welcoming Ceremony in October during regular Zoom worship; we’ll announce the date once we schedule it. This has been a long awaited event, and we’re so excited and eager to welcome our Westside friends to our congregation!
