Your humble reporter, Anne Harvey, walked around the sidelines of the party to capture the mood of the crowd. I asked numerous auction fans their opinion of our auction party.
Here are a few of the replies to my interviews.
Question: How did our annual auction party compare to the Super Bowl? One person replied, "No comparison! We should have this party more than once a year!"
Question: How did our annual party's entertainment compare to the Super Bowl Half Time Extravaganza? Again, a gentleman commented that there was no comparison! He also stated, "I can't wait to sing along with the New Knox Trio again next year but, I wish I could quit humming "I'm in the Jail House Now".

Question: How did our auction compare to watching the Super Bowl ads? Once again, the response was no comparison! This person said they didn't watch the ads because anything after the New Knox Trio and the auction would have been a huge let down.
Question: How did our potluck that was extremely special this year compare to the food you ate at the Super Bowl Party you attended? This lady responded, "What's a Super Bowl Party?"
And lastly, do you think everyone had a good time? The overwhelming response on the sidelines was that it was more fun than watching grown men in tight pants smacking each other around.
We supported Westside to the tune of 5,000 dollars!
A huge thanks to the Auction Team: Michele Neifing, the grand planner and the one who had the foresight to book the the New Knox Trio; Suzanne M., editor of the brochure and master organizer who was able to fit in at least 102 bidding sheets in a very small area;
Brad K., who created our marketing ad, produced the brochure, and whose technology skills allowed us to sing along with Sing Along Bill; Shirley V., who "accounts" for all of the dollars coming in; Judith F., the decorator that magically turned the space into a feeling that there's a party going on here; and me, who gathers all the donors' emails: We would like to thank the volunteers that helped us set up on Saturday and thank all the helping hands who help set up the potluck and clean up after the party. A special note of appreciation goes to Kari K., who on Saturday and Sunday always said, "What's next?"
Edited to add Anne Harvey herself, who herded all of the auction cats and conducted all the pre-auction cheerleading.
And, we thank everyone who came to the party because without you we wouldn't have had a party!
