NAMI Knoxville is a not-for-profit group which currently operates on a grant from the State of Tennessee to provide resources, including peer led group meetings from those living with mental illness. NAMI also provides an avenue to connect those in the groups with any needed resources they may need. Meetings are led by two trained facilitators. A Westside member is the facilitator for meetings held at Westside. For more information, visit NAMI Knoxville

Doors open at 6:30.

** NOTE: NO JULY MEETING **
Please join us for an inner journey immersed in a healing cloud of sound. Jan Coe of Whole Notes Harmony blends the soulful sounds of singing bowls, the profound power of multiple gongs, and the vibrations of a myriad of other instruments to create a path for you to follow to your own inner harmony. All you need do is come with an open mind and heart, ready to allow the sounds to settle into your innermost being and guide you to the experience that is most beneficial in creating your own profound place of peace.
Many people enjoy these concerts in a reclining position. If that appeals to you, bring blankets and pillows for your comfort. If you prefer to sit, chairs are provided. Come a little early to find your spot and settle in for this profound experience.
A love offering of $25 in exchange for the experience is greatly appreciated but not required. Offering what you can is enough.

Death Café
July 26th, 3p
We're all going to die, so why not talk about it? Join us for an informal,
unstructured discussion of death, along with coffee and cake. There's no
sales pitch or religious motive. We just want you to have the opportunity to
discuss your thoughts about death and dying because it is a subject that
society often avoids. This event is not affiliated with the host location. The
cake is provided, and there is no cost to attend. Please rsvp (not required,
but appreciated) to life.death.lorie(at)gmail.com.
From the Death Café website (www.deathcafe.com):
A Death Café is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives
or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling
session. Our objective is 'to increase awareness of death with a view to helping
people make the most of their (finite) lives'.
