Last fall, the week before Halloween, when the weather turned especially chill, the HVAC at my home decided to quit. It took the entire week to schedule a repair person and for them to get the necessary parts in. I was not a happy camper, and neither was my cat who started coming under the covers with me to stay warm. She's not normally a cuddly kitty.

The HVAC system we have at Westside is more than 15 years old; it's at the end of its service life. No one here wants to go through a cold snap or a heat wave attending services at Westside without the comfort a working HVAC system provides. To that end, we are looking at replacing our current, very old, HVAC system with a newer and more efficient system before it also decides to quit like mine at home did. Of course, that costs money. A lot of money.

We began the Warm Hearts, Cool Comfort fundraising campaign with the goal of raising $35,000 to cover the cost of the new equipment and having it installed. Running from early October through the end of January, we are nearing the end of the campaign and have raised a little more than half our goal. If you were planning on donating to this campaign but haven't yet, now is the time. If you were on the fence, now is the time to commit. If you hadn't planned on donating, know that every dollar that comes in will help offset the need for taking out a loan. If you have contributed already, thank you – you have demonstrated your Warm

Heart and desire to provide Cool Comfort for all of us! My kitty cat salutes you!
