This Sunday, June 25, we’ll celebrate our annual All Music Service. We’ll be exploring how music reflects, influences, and accompanies us on our life’s journey -- while literally “singing the journey” ourselves.
As Don Campbell explains in his book The Mozart Effect, “In an instant, music can uplift
our soul. It awakens within us the spirit of prayer, compassion, and love. It clears our minds…”
It's that feeling you get when your favorite song comes on the radio. It's the still silence of pause and appreciation after a beautiful musical performance. It's the power of singing in community for social justice and change. It's the joy of singing alone in the shower! Music touches so many parts of our journey, like a good friend we can call up at a moment’s notice to join in our celebration or ease our suffering. I can't wait to explore the journey with you this week!
I invite you to be a part of our special music. Join us for a Family One-Rehearsal Choir on Sunday morning at 9:45 to learn two songs for the service. If you can't join us early, I hope that you'll sing out from the congregation to fully immerse yourself in the spirit of song. See you then.
Make a joyful noise!
